Worst than Proctorio by far. Their algorithm is not able to distinguish anything. The system records your entire session and flags anything suspicious. They have HUMAN reviewers look through each flag and verify your identity. It's honestly terrible.

It's so hard to focus when your screen flashes red whenever you decide to move your mouth or your neck. What is this crap?

Integrity Advocate

The learner was not aware that unlike automated proctoring services, Integrity Advocate does not use A.I. to determine violations.

The "green / red" light feature was created for course participation monitoring rather than exam proctoring. We agreed this could be distracting in an exam environment and as such we have removed the feature all together.

It went terrible. Whenever I move my eyes reading from left to right or when I look down on my keyboard while I type, the window blinked from green to red. And it was blinking red every few seconds, very distracting. When I looked all the way down to use my calculator, it was blinking purple. Then at the end, they sent you and email with a photo of you saying that you have cheated by looking off the screen.

The photos are also viewable for everyone if you have the link to it.

What a privacy violating garbage

I suggest when holding up your ID for photo, use your hand to cover up all the information on the ID except the photo and the name.

We agreed this could be distracting in an exam environment and as such we have removed the feature all together. In terms of privacy protection, we delete most if not all of the media surrounding your session within 24 hours. Unlike other proctoring systems, the only media that is retained and shared are time stampede screenshots of any potential violation. The information the student received would be the same information the school received. The rest of the video footage as well as the image of a student's photo identification would have been deleted automatically within 24 hours. By using Privacy by Design architecture, we ensure that end user privacy comes first at all times.

If it's integrity advocate, the camera will flash red at you when anything covers your face. Whether it's rubbing your face, taking a drink of water, looking too long in one spot, looking away from the screen. Most of these types of proctoring things will give you digital scratch paper. If it's integrity advocate though, your video feed is looked over by what seems to be an actual person. All the little ones like drinking water or rubbing your face are ignored and it's only the major ones.

These 'issues' are then highlighted and available for both you and your prof to see. Your prof can then decide what to do with them. I've been flagged multiple times for things like 'leaving the screen for 1 second' because i misclicked something. Others have been flagged for staring in 1 spot because they're concentrating. None of my classmates have ever had any issues with these flags.

We most definitely do have human reviewers that review sessions before passing along to the school. In this manner we can ensure that students are given the same level of discretion taking an exam online as they would if so taking in person.

LOL, BCIT is going the opposite direction.

They just switched from Proctorio to an even more invasive program called Integrity Advocate. They have people check your student ID and then they will review the entire recorded exam before your grade is validated.

Integrity Advocate

We both validate student ID and their entire session before grade is issued and/or made available to the student.

Although, we consider this level of integration into an LMS a benefit because of the associated reduction on administration a student is used to. This way, there is no external process that releases their grade item and then requires their instructor to check an external data source to verify or retract their grade if problems are Identified.
