This on-demand webinar covers the ANSI Z490.1-2024 standard update and what it means for organizations delivering Safety, Health and Environmental training online. Industry experts from D2L and Integrity Advocate explain what has changed in the standard, how the D2L and Integrity Advocate integration supports compliance, and what practical steps organizations can take to build verifiable, audit-ready SHE programs.

The webinar is designed for EHS leaders, training providers, compliance managers, and organizational leaders responsible for safety training programs. It is particularly relevant for organizations currently using or evaluating D2L Brightspace for SHE training delivery

ANSI Z490.1-2024 merges what were previously two separate standards for in-person and online Safety, Health and Environmental training into a single unified standard. Organizations can no longer treat online training differently from in-person training in terms of verification, accountability, and documentation requirements. Proof that training was delivered to the right person under the required conditions is now mandatory regardless of delivery format.

The updated standard requires organizations to verify learner identity, confirm active participation, and maintain documentation that holds up to regulatory scrutiny. Simply assigning a course and recording a completion does not satisfy these requirements. Training records that cannot confirm who completed the session or whether they engaged with the content are insufficient under the new standard.

Integrity Advocate integrates natively with D2L Brightspace to add identity verification, participation monitoring, and human-reviewed session documentation directly within the LMS. This allows organizations to deliver compliant SHE training without requiring additional platforms or software installations, producing audit-ready records that meet ANSI Z490.1-2024 requirements.
